39.DAYS.

Last week was a really strange one, with lots of goodbyes.
First of all, I threw a goodbye-party because in exactly 39 days I'm officialy off to the other side of the world. The party was hosted in the Gringo Bar, a Spanish-themed cocktailbar with amazing cocktails and sangria's. It was a hell of a party, with many good friends and many goodbyes.
Goodbyes are never easy, but at least I'll get to see all my friends again in 8 months.
Someone I also had to say goodbye to way too early, was my sweet cat Cokes. He died in a hit and run at only 8 months old, and I'm still processing what happened. I'm gonna miss that little thing so much and it still hurts thinking about it..
But still I try to get on and not to forget the fact that in 39 days the adventure of my life will start, and how exciting this is.

GHENT.JUNGLE.

A few weeks ago I discovered a really inspiring place, only a few steps from my room in Ghent: the University's Botanical Garden. This domain houses a stunning park and a couple of greenhouses, where more than 10.000 plant species and flowers are bred for scientific and university purposes. It's also free for the public to visit, and the serene and beautiful scenery makes it the perfect place to unwind, wander around, paint, draw or photograph..

More flowers after the jump...

LONDON.AGAIN.

Last weekend, me and 3 friends went to London (again), mainly to see the amazing group "Foster the People" perform live in the O2-Academy in Brixton (and amazing it was!), but of course we also took the opportunity to enjoy this amazing city for a couple of days. Although the weather wasn't too good (buy hey, it's London!), we had a great time, full of beautiful shops, markets, food and coffee.  Can't wait to go back...

ROME 2010

Although I've spent most of my summer hollidays in Italy, I'd never been in Rome, until my mom&dad both had to teach some courses at the university there. I decided to come along, because it'd be a shame not to visit this ancient city loaded with history (and fashion, not to forget. Oh, and beautiful weather). I played my part of 'TOURIST' very well, running around with my camera, trying to capture everyting alive and non-alive on film. At one point I even frantically ran around piazza Navona, trying to capture flying bubbles... What a sight that must have been :)

Fav.Coffee.

Do you have an addiction? I have one. Coffee. It's a not a bad addiction though, not at all. It gives you the perfect excuse to take a break (coffee-break), to meet with friends (coffee-date) or to go out the door for no particular reason at all (the I-just-need-good-coffee-no-senseo-excuse).
Since cute coffeeplaces are popping up like mushrooms in every city nowadays, it's not that hard to find a place to get your daily black shot.

Although I always like discovering new places, here in Ghent I have already found "the one".

Located in the center of Ghent, Or Coffee is an espressobar serving the best coffee in town. I mean, even Starbucks can't beat it (Just joking. Everyone can beat Starbucks.) The wooden interior is very comforting and makes you feel at home right away. Talking about home. I think me and my friends made it our mission to settle down in Or, we partly live there, which suits us perfectly fine. And on top of the perfect coffee, they also serve delicious breakfast and lunch, so there's no reason not to pop in when you're in the neighbourhood...

Oh by the way, if you want proof that coffee really ìs the greatest addiction ever - check this out...
