GREATEST.OCEAN.RD.

Hi ladies and gents,

So sorry about the lack of updates again, but honestly, get used to it, cuz life is so much fun here that I just don't have the time to sit down and ramble about it.
But there's one story that's worth telling, and that's the Great Ocean Road trip we did last week with a bunch of internationals. It was LEGEND - wait for it... - DARY!
Taking place at Lorne, one really cute little coastal town at the beginning of the famous Great Ocean Road, we had 3 days of mad fun, breathtaking bush-&coastal walks, surfing, playing Aussie football and drinking games (both very Australian), and chilling.
Oh, and meet Angry Bird, our very own mascot throughout the trip!

Of course it's not only fun an games here, I go to school too, you know. Uni started one week ago, but with only classes on tuesday and wednesday, I can say with a sigh of relief that it's actually a whole lot of fun. Taking only business and management classes, I hope I'll learn a lot about managing people and businesses, getting an insight in organisational psychology and maybe even be able to set up a business at the end of the semester.(ok that last one might be a bit ambitious but one can only dream, right?)

But, back to the fun, what can i say more? Only that the parties are getting more and more awesome,  the amazing people keep piling up and the weather is better than in Belgium (and will only get even better from now on since spring is around the corner (almost))...

And make sure to check out my video from the trip HERE! :)

Talk soon! x

SUNSHINE.ALL.THE.WAY.

Since the lack of blogposts lately, I’ll try to make it up to you all today. So, what have I been up to the last two weeks?
- Strolling around the city, going to Victoria Market and soaking in the sun with C., my cute German friend, and also partying with her, friends and random Aussie people (so much fun!)

- Trying to find a job, finally getting 3 offers, only to turn them all down because I "don’t feel ready yet" to work in the city. Sounds lame, but it’s the truth. Luckily for me the trials get paid too. I’ll start looking again when I’m finally settled down.

- I learned that the settling down part is not that obvious. Me and M., a super sweet Finnish girl, decided to both stay in the Student Village (remember me hesitating so much about it? Well, the hesitation was completely justifiable). As soon as we moved in (luckily we took the short term contract) we knew that it was impossible to keep on living here. Not only is everything very dated (I could live with that), but it’s also extremely far away from the city, and the connection with the city is not that good (read: bus + train, can take up to 50 minutes).
I honestly do think they misplaced us, because when I went for a run in Marybirnong (the suburb where the SV is), I discovered that there are loads of beautiful mansions. I think we accidently ended up here

but should have ended up here...

-So moving to the student Village wasn’t the easiest thing, and of course we had our little 'rookie mistakes', like setting off the fire alarm while toasting bread and trying to fix the hot & cold watertap so the water would be mixed properly (the bottle trick does work, thanks A.!)

- Thanks to A.’s amazing van, we’ve been cruising through Melbourne, which gave us an instant road trip feeling, with the XX on the background...

- Since all the exchange students are slowly entering Melbourne, we’ve had lots of meet-ups, parties, and other activities at the university, the perfect excuse to meet lots of new people, exchange phone numbers and get ready for an amazing semester!
- Since M. and me don’t really want to stay in the SV, we started house hunting, and we are keeping our fingers crossed, because we might just get our dreamhouse in a few weeks, if the landlord decides we are the perfect tenants...
- Now I’ll leave you with some more pictures, watch, enjoy, and see for yourself why I’m falling in love with this city, everyday a little bit more...

LUNA.PARKS&OTHER.RANDOM.STUFF

Since I'm not really in a talkative mood today (yes, enjoy it, doesn't happen too often), I'll just treat you with random pictures from the last few days. What i've been up to? Meeting super cool new friends, strolling around the city, trying to find a job, going to St. Kilda (beach area, freezing cold! But still pretty),..
I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking!
